Processing the release of the accused on bail or to someone's custody

I. For the accused who is approved to be released on bail, a payment notice will be issued by the Bailiff Office. Relatives or friends of the accused may bring it to No. 2 cashier’s counter in the Service Center for making payment. The accused will be released upon presentation of the receipt of payment.


II. Processing the release of the accused on bail or to someone's custody
1.Processing in person or by an accompanying friend/relative.
2.Asking a friend/relative by means of phone call, written notice or other methods to complete the procedure at the Bailiff Office.


III. Forms of bail:
  Cash bail:
  1.The guarantor should bring his/her ID card.
  2.The specified amount of bail should be paid by the accused or the guarantor in cash.
  3.No bail bond is required.
  4.For payment of bail after office hours, the Office will designate an officer to collect the money on its behalf, and then turn in to the national treasury on the next day.


IV. Method of committing the accused to someone's custody:
1.The accused can only be committed to the custody of an elder member of his/her family or relative, or another properly employed person residing within the jurisdiction of the Office, other than the assistant of the accused or his/her authorized agent.
2. The person who is given custody of the accused should present his/her ID card for verification, complete a custody form, affix the seal, sign or impress a fingerprint.


V. The accused will be released immediately after the guarantor has completed the bail procedure or the person given custody of the accused has completed the custody procedure.


VII. The Office does not charge any fee for the procedures of releasing the accused on bail, to someone's custody, and examination or cross-checking of the guarantor.
