Item of application: Application for summons of witness or expert witness


Detail of application:
The complainant or defendant may apply for summons of relevant witnesses or expert witnesses for their interest or to facilitate investigation of the case.


Applicant:
The complainant or defendant.


Methods of application:
1. Submit an application (with the section in charge and case number clearly marked), stating:
(1) Name, age and residence, etc. of the witness or expert witness to be summoned.
(2) Matters to be attested to or to be authenticated.
2. In a court session, make a verbal statement and leave written record.
Document required: Document relating to the matters to be attested to. (Online applicants should send the hard copy of the supporting document by registered mail, and mark the application number as appeared in system’s reply.)


Application period:
After acceptance and before closure of a case.


Acceptance time:
Immediately upon request during the office hours.


Reviewing criteria and processing result:
The prosecutor will consider the details of application and process accordingly.
